About me

I am licensed as a licensed clinical social worker in Tx having about 7 years of client-facing experience. I have experience in helping clients regarding stress, anxiety, depression, sleep issues, and trauma. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I strive to offer responsive, humanistic interventions that meet your unique and specific needs. Making the first step to participate in therapy can require courage, and I welcome you and congratulate you for getting started!

You may be interested to know a little bit more about me. I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as an undergraduate, earning a B.A. in English literature and Latin American Studies. Later, I earned my Master of Social Work degree from New York University in 2013. I have trained in solutions-focused psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, "DBT," acceptance and commitment therapy, and cognitive processing therapy, among other theories. A few of these therapies, such as DBT, involve the application of mindfulness. I meet clients where they are to help my clients identify and move toward meeting their own goals.

BetterHelp allows therapists to organize some of their own practices and procedures according to their training and licensure. So, you may like to know upfront that I will prefer to have our first meeting via Video, both so that we can better meet each other and also so that you can show me a copy of your ID, such as a driver's license, as a standard professional practice and for better safety planning. After the first session, I allow my clients to choose Video, Phone, or Chat sessions. I also have a formal, professional consent to receive services form that I request before the first session and require before the second session. These practices lay the foundation for the more important therapy conversations that we will develop and make together.
