About me

Elisa Tuffy is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and Florida. She works with adults and couples providing a space for clients to safely express their thoughts and feelings. She uses an eclectic treatment approach that often begins with cognitive and behavioral interventions integrating techniques that unite a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT, and motivational interviewing. This integrated approach allows her to build a therapeutic experience that harmonizes with the client’s unique needs and strengths, tailoring therapy to meet the individual or couple where they are and help them get to where they want to be.

I have worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups in the treatment of addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, adjustment, and phase of life issues. As well as parenting, body image and self-esteem, relationship concerns, behavioral issues, career discovery and development. I have experience working with military and law enforcement individuals as well as work experience with individuals, couples, groups and families in Community Mental Health, serving the uninsured and underinsured at the Leahy Clinic, working with individuals and groups in drug and alcohol treatment services and in private practice. Her passion lies in helping people bring more awareness, spontaneity, and joy back into their lives. I believe you are the expert of your own life experience and, as your therapist will hold a safe space for you to discover and identify your strengths, goals and to develop a path to accomplishing those goals.

I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and have earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Scranton including a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies, Master of Science in Human Resources and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As an EMDRIA trained EMDR therapist we can focus on present concerns and healing through bilateral stimulation to activate the brain’s ability to resolve these concerns. With advanced training in Perinatal Mental Health I work together with birthing & non-birthing parents to navigate perinatal concerns including pregnancy, pregnancy loss, grief, postpartum depression and life adjustment.
