About me

Living with anxiety and trauma can feel awfully isolating and exhausting, however there are therapeutic approaches that can help. I use an integrative approach to therapy that views the mind and body as one, that goes beyond traditional talk therapy. I not only help clients achieve relief from symptoms, but I also carefully collaborate with them to pinpoint root causes of symptoms for optimal results. This holistic and comprehensive treatment strategy enables us to look at the big picture by considering the unique psychological, biological, social, and relational aspects of each client in order to develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to their personal needs and goals.

I’m a seasoned and dedicated therapist with 25 years of clinical behavioral healthcare experience who is passionate about helping others feel empowered and achieve psychological, relational, and interpersonal wellbeing. I use a trauma-informed and attachment-focused approach to therapy based in neuroscience. Psychoneuroimmunology (the mind-body connection) strongly suggests a vital link between mind and body, as it relates to physical and emotional wellbeing. Since the mind and body are one working in tandem, why not work with both in psychotherapy. Recent advances in neuroscience has shown that trauma not only gets stored in the brain, but trapped in the body as well. The good news is that research has also found that our brains have the unique ability to change (neuroplasticity). This means that it is possible to rewire our brain and nervous system’s response to past traumatic memories. We no longer have to continue living in a chronic fight-flight-freeze state anymore. We can actually even “rewrite” past distressing memories via a process called voluntary memory rescripting. When combined with evidence-based treatments like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) it further aids in natural memory reconsolidation. Essentially, when the distressing memory is recalled, it will no longer feel as intense. What’s even better is that we don’t even need to verbally rehash traumatic memories to the therapist in order to achieve this amazing change. If you feel uncomfortable talking about it, you don’t have to. This however doesn’t mean that you’ll be alone… I’ll be with you, holding space every step of the way through your journey to recovery by providing support, guidance, and compassion. Living with trauma can feel terribly lonely, however your road to post-traumatic growth need not be traveled alone.
