About me
I am an experienced psychotherapist dedicated to helping adolescents, adults and couples achieve satisfying, productive lives through self understanding and positive patterns of behavior.
Although I am familiar with many models of counseling and psychotherapy, I work collaboratively with my clients to utilize what will be most helpful rather than relying on one method. It is important to me that my clients feel that I hear their perspectives and create an environment where it is safe for them to really open up and trust that I can help them make the necessary changes in their lives that will produce satisfying, productive lives. I have an MSW degree from Washington University and a PhD degree from the University of Chicago. In addition to several years of private practice with adolescents, adults and couples, I have been the head of a counseling department in a social agency and also taught clinical classes on the graduate faculty of two universities. My commitment to providing the best service to my clients results in my ongoing participation in post graduate education which includes seminars not only in the areas of anxiety, depression and grief but also in the attainment of the third level of training in Gottman Couples Therapy.
