About me
Achieving Balance Counseling provides a safe environment for adults who need help to find peace, serenity, and balance in their lives. Our mission is to provide person-centered care regardless of race, cultural background, gender identity, sexual identity, socio-economic status, spiritual beliefs, or otherwise.
"D" comes from a personal background of mental illness and chemical dependency. In 2001 he made a decision to address his struggles and asked for help. He has been in recovery since then, and has dedicated the second half of his life to help others; first through volunteering and providing peer to peer support, and later as a licensed professional.
"D" has been a licensed social worker since 2008. He worked as a chemical dependency counselor for several years before shifting to outpatient therapy in 2015. "D" specializes in providing therapy to those struggling with co-occurring disorders, trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, anger, and partner conflict. "D" utilizes EMDR, CBT, Strengths-based, Insight-oriented, and anger management therapy modalities. "D" provides therapy to adult individuals and couples. When not working he loves and worships the Minnesota Vikings, plays in two fantasy football leagues, and enjoys riding his Harley.
