About me
Desiree has had extensive training in Narrative Family Therapy (NFT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), with a goal to become certified in both. Desiree has learned to combine techniques from both theories to assist clients struggling with a variety of challenges. As a Marriage and Family therapist, she has also been extensively trained in family systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy, which allows her to assist clients in gaining insight into the ways in which our culture, families, peers, society, education, and environment have contributed to behaviors and patterns that are both helpful and contrary to our mental well-being.
Desiree is passionate about assisting families and individuals to build stronger relationships and connections with one another, and learning and building on skills they can use to cope with life’s challenges and obstacles. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, and phase of life struggles. She works with couples, families, and individuals, and is an active member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
