About me

There is a reason why you are reading this today. You are stuck, or your life is in crisis. In my therapy practice, I don’t see people for emotional tune-ups. It just doesn’t happen that way. There are plenty of self-help books and mindfulness practices for that.

What about you, right now? If you are a concerned parent, your child is extremely emotional, and is coming apart at the seams. If you are in a relationship or in a marriage, you are considering ending it. If you are a businessman or a mother whose kid just left for college, you are wondering what you are doing with your life. You or a loved one are in an existential crisis - right now.

How would I possibly know about this? Personal and painful experiences in each and every one of these developmental domains… my own historic trips to dark places, you might say.

Effective psychotherapy demands two things, at least in my experience. Eons behind the wheel of life with all of ups and downs, AND years of work in the field of psychotherapy. BOTH are needed to truly understand the problem, and to affect a resolution. Insist on both.
