Faith-based LPC specializing in empowering leaders invest in their mental health.

Are you in a leadership position, but struggling with negative thoughts?
Do you find the circle of confidants increasingly small?
Are you attempting to appear strong for those you serve, and finding it difficult?

In late 2019, Pastor Jarrid Wilson of California took his life. It sent shock waves through the community, though his openness on mental health offered a clue into the fact that leaders are humans with legitimate struggles.

Unfortunately, too many pastors and leaders carry a burden of despair, loneliness, and hopelessness. Complicating such a burden is the pedestal on which they get placed, resulting in a perception of undue pressure to maintain the facade of strong, healthy leadership. Such individuals live in isolation, believing the lie that vulnerability into genuine struggles can bring one to ruin. These dynamics are also felt by the spouses and children, who often did not sign up for the pressures they face.

As a pastor and a counselor, I seek to find God’s heart to provide a safe, confidential means for those in leadership to address the anxiety, depression, and other unhealthy thought patterns specifically associated with the leadership mantle. It is my goal for you and for your family to experience the mental and emotional healing necessary for restoration, and to be restored to maximum impact.

If you are a pastor or a leader, I invite you to reach out confidentially today. Regardless of how severe or mild your symptoms may be, or how far your influence extends, there is absolutely no shame in having a conversation that could lead to your emotional freedom and subsequent enhanced effectiveness.

Dan is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey, and an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God. He and his wife of 16 years, Tiffany, are raising 5 children.

Dan graduated Ashland Theological Seminary in 2008 with a Master’s of Divinity, Professional Clinical Counseling (M. Div., P.C.C.). After working in the clinical field in Ohio for a few years, Dan and Tiffany have served at First Assembly of God in Toms River, NJ in the areas of youth ministry and worship. Within that time, God has opened the doors to minister in the area of counseling both within and out of the church.

Dan’s philosophy of counseling can be described as Biblically grounded, trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy. To fully understand, here is the breakdown:
Biblically grounded: Foundational to any approach to wellness must be that God our Creator, Redeemer, and Comforter is the sole source of shalom, of holistic wellness in body, mind and spirit. Any restoration of any aspect of ourselves must line up with the truths and promises within His Word.
Trauma-informed: The core wounds we experience in life create schema, or distorted ways of thinking toward ourselves, the world, and even God. These schema manifest in emotional dysfunction and subsequent behavioral disarray. In order to adjust behavior and the underlying emotion, it is often important to revisit the memory related to when said schema developed.
Cognitive-behavioral: Once the core wound is explored, the important work of “renewing the mind” (Romans 12:2) can begin by confronting dysfunctional thoughts and practicing healthy ones in their stead.
