About me
My therapeutic focus includes depression, mood dysregulation, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and ASD, as well as educator and parent coaching. My therapeutic methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered therapy, Polyvagal, and Mindfulness.
I am originally from the Appalachian Mountains in northeast Tennessee but have lived in Texas for 11 years. I've been married for 17 years and have a blended family with my husband and two sons. It's not always easy, but love and understanding help us overcome challenges. My faith and family are very important to me and are a large part of who I am. My boys have grown into adults with their own lives, and I enjoy spending time with them playing board games and watching movies. When I have time, my hobbies include researching psychology, baking, jewelry making, knitting, drawing, painting, and many other creative activities.
Are you or your loved one struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions? I specialize in providing compassionate support and effective strategies for individuals navigating these challenges.
With a history in teaching special education and counseling in schools, I have developed a nuanced understanding of ADHD, anxiety, depression, and various mental health conditions. This allows me to provide targeted interventions that promote growth and resilience. I have a deep understanding of diverse learning styles and emotional needs. I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet the unique requirements of each client.
I create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. I emphasize empathy and validation, fostering a strong therapeutic alliance that serves as the foundation for healing and growth.
Utilizing evidence-based techniques and personalized interventions, I empower clients to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. From developing coping skills to enhancing self-esteem, I equip individuals with practical tools to navigate life's challenges with confidence.
I recognize that each client is unique, which is why I tailor my approach to address specific needs and goals. Whether it's managing symptoms of ADHD, reducing anxiety, or coping with depression, I work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that promote holistic well-being.
Building on strengths and resilience, I help clients harness their inner resources to overcome adversity and thrive. By focusing on strengths rather than deficits, I foster a sense of empowerment and possibility.
I believe in addressing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in promoting overall wellness. I integrate mindfulness, self-care practices, and holistic modalities to support clients in achieving balance and harmony in their lives.
If you're ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth, I invite you to reach out. Together, we'll navigate the challenges you're facing and unlock the potential for a brighter tomorrow.
