Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
I am an experienced, licensed, Christian counselor who has worked with individuals, couples, and families in a Christian setting for over 5 years. I have a desire to integrate my faith and use my gifts as a counselor to serve people. I specialize in helping young adults adapt to changes in life and overcome anxiety and depression.
Hello! My name is Candis and I applaud you for taking the steps to help yourself grow. I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Tennessee. I have over 7 years’ experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a few different settings including residential, partial care, and in a church setting. I have the most experience working with depression, anxiety, family/relationship conflicts, codependency, and couples counseling.
My passion to help others in their quest for mental health stems from my personal experience with it. I grew up with watching those around me struggle with mental health issues but never seeking help or even acknowledging the need for it. I know first hand that getting help can be a challenge. There is still so much stigma around having mental health issues, the process for getting help can be overwhelming, and it can feel so frustrating and lonely. However, I also know from experience how much life can change for the better when you find support and take steps towards taking care of yourself!
I use a person-centered, multicultural, and integrative approach in treatment. This means I begin where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your needs while being sensitive to how your individual cultural identities and lifestyle choices impact your experience. I primarily use evidence based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling.
I would describe my style as warm and supportive, and I am ready to help you discover ways to move forward as a more healthy you. Team work is important – together we can work on establishing concrete goals and steps for you to help overcome your current problems. I like to celebrate small wins and know that progress is progress no matter how slow.
