About me
’ve found that working with complex treatment concerns has been very rewarding in looking for root causes for why past treatments not produced the success that had been hoped for. I enjoy looking at the smallest details and find it incredibly gratifying when I help someone find the relief that has evaded them for so long.
My entire career has been devoted to working with those who have just entered adulthood to those that are coming towards the end of their life. No matter what age or type of life experience one has had, there is something new to be learned from everyone, and I carry those lessons with me into future scenarios.
My approach is all-encompassing- I look at any potential influences on mental health- relationships, home environment, and underlying medical issues that may have not been uncovered yet. Over time I found myself enjoying challenging scenarios that offer the opportunity to "think outside the box" approaches. This led to the discovery of the complexities of geriatric psychiatry, testing for all scenarios related to memory concerns, and the awareness that there is often an element of grieving attached to the loss of independence, loved ones, and a lifestyle once enjoyed. We are all multifaceted, and our needs demand a unique plan.
Working with multiple unknowns has led to a variety of strategies to get to the root of the problem or problems. Attention to seemingly small details and patterns can change outcomes, and it is incredible to see renewed hope where it was lost.
My priority from the start is building a relationship where they feel comfortable talking to me as though I was a trusted friend. I consider it an honor that they are putting their faith in me to help them during a time of vulnerability. I do not take this lightly. I want everyone to feel as though the plan developed was centered around their priorities.
