I am a passionate counselor, art therapist, and yoga teacher dedicated to helping adults cope with life changes, anxiety, and self-doubt.
My name is Brittany and I am an LCPC, ATR-BC, and an RYT. I am currently working towards a PhD in art therapy to further my knowledge so that I may provide the best support to my clients. I specialize in helping adults develop effective coping skills to manage various life stressors, with an emphasis on life changes and transitions; feelings of anxiety, depression, and anger; and concerns of self-doubt and low self-esteem. My goal is to empower my clients by helping them understand their challenges, reflect on how they have encountered their challenges, and how to manage and move through those challenges. I utilize talk and art therapy, as well as yogic principles and practices to help my clients achieve the growth they seek. I am person-centered, meaning I believe that you are the expert of your life and I am able to act as a guide and a source of support through education, skill-building, and simply acknowledging your emotions. I recognize that external influences, such as family, friends, culture, and more influence how you relate to the world. Together we explore how you would like to respond to those influences. No client is forced to try any specific therapeutic method, but a combination of methods may be used as we determine the best course of support for you. I offer counseling and art therapy via in person and video methods. I am also open to providing phone sessions for talk therapy. I emphasize helping my clients discover their strengths and recognize their self-worth.
I have experience working with various mental health issues including cognitive disabilities, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and more. I have worked with neurodivergent individuals in the areas of ADHD/ADD, Autism, and OCD. I have over five years of experience working in grief counseling. I have worked with all age groups from children as young as three years old to elderly adults. I have provided art therapy and counseling to individuals at end of life and those starting something new.
I take the practice of "do no harm," which is foundational in my therapeutic and yoga practices, sincerely. I am very empathetic and offer a judgement free therapy space. I can provide the best support when my clients feel they can be honest and be their authentic self. I encourage authenticity and portray my authentic self with my clients so that trust and progress can form.
My practice is run out of B3 Yoga and Wellness Center, a business I co-own with my sister. I believe that art and expression are important in life. We are not on this life to be perfect, but to exist and grow into whoever we want to be. I take a holistic approach to counseling, as our lives are made up of many different facets of interconnected parts. It is important to address and support the whole person. I utilize elements of eco-art therapy as well, as nature is essential to life. I support building a positive relationship with nature as living harmoniously with nature can improve our emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
When I am not providing care, I enjoy spending time making art of my own, walks in the woods, and spending time with my family, including my four cats. I also enjoy various forms of creative writing and spend time creating poetry and fiction stories.
