Brenda Cappy Gruhn, Licensed Professional Counselor
Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
I have extensive experience providing client-centered, strengths-based, solution-focused therapy to clients ages 12 and up.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a certified Pennsylvania Professional School Counselor. I have over twenty years of counseling experience in schools, agencies and private practices. I earned my MA in Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh and am currently a PhD Candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. At my practice, Cappy Counseling and Wellness, I offer virtual individual counseling, and group and individual mindfulness education and practice sessions. My therapeutic framework is based in client-centered and solution-focused therapies, infused with cognitive behavior therapy strategies. I also incorporate mindfulness techniques and strategies, and art therapy activities, with clients who wish to explore these options.
