Thank you for your interest in my practice. I work primarily with older adolescents and adults who seek help in dealing with stress, challenging relationships and life transitions, including loss. I work collaboratively with my clients toward reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. I believe that within the context of a supportive therapy relationship individuals can develop insight into the roots of their struggles and effective strategies for change. In addition, I specialize in the use of a harm reduction approach in the treatment of young adults who struggle with alcohol or other drugs.
Prior to private practice, I worked for many years as the Associate Director of Counseling Services and the Alcohol and Other Drug Specialist at Pace University. I enjoy helping clients learn how to make healthy and conscious choices regarding the use of substances. I also enjoy helping their loved ones learn how to support them along the way.
While I do not participate on any insurance panels, I am happy to work with clients toward receipt of out of network reimbursement. I believe that therapy should be affordable and accessible and will do my best to adjust fees such that finances need not be a barrier to care.
