About me
I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) who is committed to assisting others in processing their experiences, building understanding around mental health and building long-term healing.
Hello!
With just a first step, your next chapter can start today. I know it can be scary to ask for help, but I promise it can be worth it and I’m here to guide you through it.
My name is Alex (she/they) and I provide psychotherapy that is empirically informed, theoretically grounded, culturally responsive, and relationally based. I work with my clients to co-create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where they can build safer relationships, cultivate hope, and create meaningful, lasting change.
I am a licensed social worker (LSW) with seven years of experience in the mental health field and a Master’s degree from the Simmons School of Social Work. I have trained in a range of clinical settings, working with diverse racial, gender, and sexual identities utilizing a social justice lens. I specialize in work with the LGBTQ+ population, folks questioning their sexuality and gender expression and those who have loved ones doing so who they would like to learn how to support.
Areas of experience include:
· Relationships & Intimacy
· Life Transitions
· Identity Exploration
· Depression & Anxiety
· Grief & Loss
· LGBTQIA+
· Healing Perfectionism
· Health at Every Size, Body Neutrality and Fat Liberation
· Chronic Illness & Disability
· Substance Use
· HIV/AIDS
· Queer Partnerships & Expansive Relationship Styles
· Therapy for Artists & Creatives
· ADHD & Executive Functioning
· Career Exploration and Academic Planning from a therapeutic lens
As a clinician, my style is open, holistic, and strengths-based. I believe that no counseling should be one-size-fits-all, but rather tailored to the unique person in front of me, their needs and their lived experience. To do this, I prioritize authenticity and collaboration. I believe that a therapeutic relationship is built on warmth, empathy, and trust—where both parties are continually growing and learning from each other. I’m an active listener who aims to see, hear, and accept all parts of you.
