About me
Healing begins with being truly seen and heard. My role as your counselor is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and understood, without judgment or pretense. I bring decades of experience in various roles serving veterans, first responders, survivors of trauma, and those navigating major life transitions. As a counselor in training, my approach integrates evidence-based practices such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and other trauma-focused interventions with a deep respect for your personal and spiritual values.
As a doctoral-level researcher and methodologist with over twenty years of experience in higher education, I approach counseling through both a compassionate and analytical lens. Research has taught me how to look beneath surface patterns, recognize root causes, and interpret complex human dynamics with precision and care. I bring that same depth of inquiry to the counseling process; helping clients identify meaningful patterns in their stories, integrate new strategies for emotional resilience, and measure growth in tangible ways.
Now completing my clinical training to become a Resident in Counseling in Virginia, I combine my research insight, clinical skill, and genuine compassion to support lasting transformation. My background as a business leader and educator helps me bring clarity, structure, and goal-oriented direction to our work together, while my worldview reminds me that healing is not just clinical, it can be relational, emotional, and spiritual.
Together, we will work toward rediscovering your strength, rebuilding trust in yourself, and creating a life that aligns with your deepest sense of purpose and peace.
