About me
Sometimes we know something needs to change, but we’re not quite sure where to start. Other times, we know exactly what the problem is; we just need a safe place to sort through it and someone who can help us figure out what comes next.
I’m Ysanda Prince, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, though I go by Sandy. My approach to therapy is compassionate, straightforward, and practical. I want you to feel heard and supported, but I also believe therapy should help you make meaningful progress. Together, we will look beyond the immediate problem to better understand the patterns, experiences, relationships, and circumstances that may be influencing how you think, feel, and respond.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship concerns, stress, self-esteem concerns, and major life transitions. Whether you are navigating conflict, communication difficulties, changing relationship dynamics, or trying to better understand the patterns you bring into your relationships, therapy can provide a space to gain clarity and develop healthier ways of connecting with yourself and others.
My background in social work has also given me a strong understanding of how emotional well-being can be affected by real-life pressures such as health concerns, career changes, financial stress, changing roles, loss of independence, and uncertainty about the future. I also understand personally that navigating challenges, adapting to change, and advocating for yourself are not always easy. As someone who is hard of hearing and has a speech difference, I bring both professional knowledge and lived experience into my understanding of resilience, self-advocacy, and finding your way forward.
You can expect me to listen without judgment, ask thoughtful questions, challenge you when it may be helpful, and work with you to identify realistic strategies that fit your life. I am not here to tell you who you should be or what your life should look like. My role is to help you better understand yourself, recognize what may be keeping you stuck, and build the confidence and skills to make choices that feel right for you.
You do not need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You also do not need to show up as a perfect version of yourself. Therapy is a space for real people dealing with real life. Bring what you have, and we will begin there.
