Yazmin Coleman, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Raleigh, NC
Online & In-Person
About me
I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and young adults cope with depression, anxiety, anger, and trauma. I am CCTP certified and licensed in three additional states. I am also a Clinical Supervisor.
As a graduate from the Joint Master’s Social Work Program, at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and with my full License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) and provisional license as a Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCASA) I feel that I would be a great candidate for this position. I maintained an excellent GPA and excelled in all my required classes and during my internship at Cone Health Women’s Hospital as evidence by being accepted into two elite honor societies. I currently serve as a Team Lead for an Assertive Community Treatment Team. Additionally, I have attended several trainings to enhance my clinical knowledge and skills. I have gained 4 years of experience as a therapist in several settings such as in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, as a school-based therapist, as community-based therapist, case manager, and field supervisor. I have learned how to properly facilitate process groups, complete psychosocial assessments, refer patients to the appropriate outpatient providers, and facilitate family sessions.
One of my primary skills I would contribute to any setting is that I am bilingual. I can speak and write both English and Spanish fluently. I have gained experience when working with diverse populations and maintaining cultural competency. Throughout my career, I have been able to apply the following evidenced-based practices: motivational interviewing, CBT, SFBT, DBT, solution focused, and crisis intervention. I have also been able to work in non-profit agencies helping low-income families acquire housing. I have also served as a school-based mental health therapist in Chatham and Orange County Schools. I have gained experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, SPMI adults, and geriatric populations in the past eight years.
