About me
Hi, I’m Dr. Yanet Vanegas, and I’m here to help you and your family navigate the challenges that come with growing up. Whether it’s a child struggling with anxiety, a teen grappling with OCD, or a family trying to figure out how to manage ADHD or behavior struggles, I believe in meeting you where you are and working together to create meaningful change.
As a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience, I specialize in supporting children, teens, and parents through evidence-based care that’s not only effective but also tailored to your unique needs. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and practical—I want you to leave each session with tools and strategies you can use right away.
I also know that parenting is tough, and sometimes you just need someone to listen and guide without judgment. That’s why I work closely with parents to create a game plan that works for your family, whether we’re tackling tantrums, improving communication, or building healthier routines.
Here’s a little about my style: I’m approachable, down-to-earth, and solution-focused. You won’t find a one-size-fits-all approach here—my goal is to truly understand what’s going on and help you feel confident and supported every step of the way. I draw from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, and parent coaching to ensure that you’re getting the best care possible.
A bit about my background: I trained at Harvard Medical School’s McLean Hospital and have worked in a variety of settings, from inpatient care to private practice. I also specialize in treating eating disorders and perinatal mental health, offering compassionate care for women navigating pregnancy, postpartum, and everything in between.
Whether your child is feeling overwhelmed, your teen is struggling with self-esteem, or you’re a parent looking for guidance, I’m here to help you find solutions that work for your family. Together, we’ll create a plan that helps you feel hopeful, confident, and ready to take on what’s next.
If you’re ready to start this journey, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Let’s do this together!
