About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience providing effective psychotherapy to adults, from the worried well to those with severe mental illness. My specialties are treating anxiety (to include posttraumatic stress), personality disorders, and reducing/limiting all forms of self-destructive behavior.
My ideal client is a person who has lost the thread of meaning in their life. A person who might even be asking themselves, What is the point of continuing on? There might be past traumas, depression and/or anxiety, perhaps harmful behaviors they can't seem to shake. There might be a great deal of fear. But ultimately, they need a fresh perspective on what it means for them to be alive, and to regain the sense that their choices matter.
For many years, I have worked with people in some of the most difficult life situations imaginable. But no matter what one's circumstances might be, one is never totally powerless to gain back some control and self-determination. Let's address the thoughts and feelings that keep you stuck.
Life can be baffling, overwhelming, and downright hostile sometimes. It is also a tapestry of opportunities to experience joy, when we know where to look for it. I'm always excited to work with my clients, and I focus on strengths, not weaknesses. It would be a great privilege to hear your story.
