About me
I believe therapy should be practical, understandable, and useful. My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and straightforward. I want you to leave sessions with a better understanding of what is happening, why it is happening, and what you can actually do about it.
I work with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, stress, relationship difficulties, and major life changes. I use a primarily cognitive-behavioral approach, while drawing from other evidence-based methods when they are helpful. I don't believe therapy needs to spend endless amounts of time analyzing the past. Understanding where a pattern came from can be useful, but our main focus will be on what is happening in your life now and how we can change it.
My style is active and collaborative. I won't simply sit back and ask, “How does that make you feel?” for an hour. I provide feedback, explain psychological concepts in plain language, help identify patterns, and offer concrete strategies you can experiment with between sessions. At the same time, therapy isn't one-size-fits-all. We will figure out together what works for you.
One of the things I value most is creating a space where people can talk openly without worrying about being judged. Human beings are complicated. We all develop ways of coping with life, and sometimes those strategies stop working or begin creating problems of their own. Therapy is an opportunity to understand those patterns, develop more effective ones, and become more confident in your ability to handle whatever life brings.
My goal is not for you to need therapy forever. My goal is to help you develop the insight, skills, flexibility, and resilience to become increasingly effective at navigating your own life.
