About me
I have more than 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist who works with individuals and couples.
You are here for results and, ever since I began my practice, my goal has been to provide the kind of improvement that each client comes to treatment for. Many come for treatment for depression, anxiety or trauma. Sometimes, clients aren't exactly sure what they need but understand that they need help managing an issue or a relationship. The good news is that, because of my lengthy experience, I'm usually able to quickly see where the issues lie, even when clients have difficulty seeing it or when they find themselves experiencing complex emotions that are hard to express.
Obviously, people do need time to make the changes that they seek. Fortunately, I am nearly always able to make a strong bond with the client wherein we walk the path toward improved mental health together. I'm told that I'm easy to talk to and my clients enjoy that I have a sense of humor which makes the work easier to pursue.
Over the years, I have worked with people of all ages, ethnicities, and gender orientations. I'm comfortable with anyone's lifestyle and I will work diligently to ensure that your goals are met according to whatever your personal view of life is.
Lastly, unlike most psychotherapists, I also have a specialty as a Forensic Social Worker. This means, simply put, that I have extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system, should a client or a family member need help in managing the psychological difficulties that result from legal issues.
I do not take private insurance, but I can provide invoices for our sessions so that clients may still be reimbursed while out-of-network. My up front fees are very reasonable and in line with what most therapists charge their clients. I'm happy to provide a brief free initial interview over the phone so as to determine if we are a good match for one another.
Please note that, since the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been working remotely on virtual platforms. Hopefully, there will be a return, at some point, to in-person meetings, which I believe have benefits over video sessions. Unfortunately, I cannot at this time say when that will be Perhaps soon.
