About me
I founded Embark Therapy to help you move beyond symptom relief so you can live with more clarity, connection, and purpose.
In today’s fast paced world, slowing down and looking inward is difficult but essential. At Embark, we help you explore what’s beneath the surface, past wounds, hidden patterns, and parts of yourself that have long gone unacknowledged. By uncovering unprocessed emotions and allowing them to be expressed, you can foster genuine insight, emotional resilience, and a richer quality of life rooted in meaning, not just maintenance.
Paying it forward. Giving to others on their journey.
We live in a time when therapy and mental health are finally being talked about more openly. Yet even with the progress we’ve made, there’s still a long road ahead toward true understanding.
In our fast-paced world, we’re conditioned to look for quick fixes. Anxiety? Depression? Shouldn’t there be an instant solution for those, too? But real healing doesn’t work that way. Symptoms aren’t just problems to be erased, they’re signals. They point us to deeper truths, warning us that something in our lives, relationships, or inner world needs attention.
The work of therapy is about listening to those signals, not silencing them. When we address the roots of our struggles rather than just the surface the symptoms lose their hold.
This is a journey. It begins on safe ground, with trust, camaraderie, and even moments of laughter. As the work deepens, we step into more challenging terrain, confronting flaws, exploring past wounds, and shining light into places we’ve avoided. It’s not an easy path. But for those willing to walk it, the reward is a kind of clarity that changes everything, a new way of seeing yourself, your relationships, and the world around you.
At Embark Therapy, that’s the invitation, to go beyond surface fixes and explore the deeper story of your life.
I’m Will Michelson, LMFT, founder of Embark Therapy. My approach blends psychodynamic depth therapy with relational, somatic, and evidence-based practices. I studied clinical psychology and theology at Fuller Seminary and trained at The Maple Counseling Center, where I learned the art of working with complexity, trauma, and the hidden dimensions of the self. My background in kinesiology and experience coaching athletes also shaped my belief in the mind-body connection and the power of relationships to heal.
Above all, I bring empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for the courage it takes to do this work. Therapy isn’t just about symptom relief, it’s about becoming more fully alive, connected, and grounded in who you truly are.
Embark Therapy. Camaraderie on the adventure within.
