About me
I am an experienced therapist who is dedicated to empowering people from all walks of life to overcome their mental health issues and regain control of their lives.
I received my master's in social work in 2006 from The Ohio State University and a master's in business administration in 2009 from Ohio Dominican University. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples in a variety of settings throughout my career. I draw from a variety of treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), talk therapy, supportive therapy, and heart-centered hypnotherapy in which I am an advanced clinical hypnotherapist (ACHT). I enjoy working with all types of people ages 12 and up. I specialize in working with people who have experienced trauma and are ready to regain control of their lives. I work well with people who are experiencing relationship and/or sexual issues, including alternative lifestyles (poly, kink, etc) and coming out (LGBTQ+).
I became a therapist because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of people who struggle with mental health issues and don't know where to start. I offer virtual therapy from my home, so I am very flexible when it come to your scheduling needs. My office space is private and I use HIPAA compliant programs, so you never have to worry about your private information being shared. I offer a phone consultation for free so we can make sure we are a good fit for each other. I would love to speak with you and answer all of your questions about what you can expect when working with me.
My clients describe me as open, honest, caring and non-judgmental, but also blunt and to the point in a nurturing and compassionate way. I am easy going and informal, yet professional in my approach. I want you to feel comfortable working with me as I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of therapy. I am open to feedback and welcome your input/suggestions. I believe that the only way I can best meet your needs is through open and honest communication and feedback. I love working with all types of people from all walks of life. I am not easily offended, and I don't shy away from any topic of conversation. I want you to feel free to come as you are--everyone is welcome and accepted in my practice.
