About me
I have been a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker for decades, working with adults who are experiencing work-related stress, layoffs, toxic work environments, grief/loss, relationships, illness, career transition, and retirement.
I also help people with ADHD leverage and build on their strengths, manage the behaviors they want to change, and mend relationships.
Another area of help I offer is to those who are experiencing an existential crisis. People come to me, usually, after a life event causes them to undergo a period of intense questioning and self-doubt about one's beliefs, purpose, and identity.
Also, I work with people of all ages to cope with loss and bereavement of people and pets.
*Note that I also offer coaching services, but coaching is not insurance reimbursable.
It's my goal to create a therapeutic environment that feels comfortable, safe, and trusting for my clients. I work with clients to address their specific needs and identified goals. I understand that each person's personal journey is unique, therefore, my approach is tailored to fit each individual's specific needs. My therapeutic style is active and direct, but supportive and non-judgmental.
Ultimately, my goal is to assist clients with whatever makes sense for them in their journey. Whether it be achieving self-awareness, dealing better with a toxic work environment, reducing symptoms of anxiety or depression, better-coping skills, personal and professional growth, improved relationships, increased self-esteem, self-confidence, or greater life satisfaction.
It's important to note that therapy is a collaborative process. It's also normal for progress to occur gradually over time and for setbacks to occur along the way.
My therapeutic approach is influenced by training and experience in strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and positive psychology. I offer help with issues related to anxiety, depression, career/occupational, toxic boss/work stress, ADHD, attention, perfectionism, people or pet loss, phase of life, interpersonal, and marital. My practice is trauma-informed, and I offer EMDR therapy when needed to resolve deep seated issues. I have worked in the mental health field for over thirty years.
Starting therapy takes a lot of courage and can be a daunting, yet highly rewarding experience. I believe that if we are able to become curious and vulnerable, our lives can become more connected, grounded, and enriched in the process. I am committed to supporting you through this process with a warm, supportive, and collaborative spirit.
I am a Massachusetts-based therapist, so you must live or be located in Massachusetts for me to help you.
I do accept most private insurance plans, but I do not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or any Connector or other state plans.
*Note that I also offer coaching services, but coaching is not insurance reimbursable.
