About me
Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in Somatic & Attachment-Focused EMDR (S.A.F.E.) to help clients process trauma, rewrite old narratives, and build lasting resilience.
I’m Wanda Massey, LMSW, a licensed clinical therapist and school social worker based in Dearborn, Michigan. At the core of my work is a simple belief: you do not have to carry the weight of past trauma alone, and healing is not about fixing what is broken, but about reconnecting with the innate strength that has been there all along. My practice, Reprocess Therapy LLC, was built to offer a safe, compassionate, and evidence-based space where individuals and families can unpack difficult life experiences, discover emotional regulation, and move toward a more grounded and meaningful life.
Every person's healing journey looks different, which is why I utilize a holistic, integrative approach tailored to your unique needs. My primary clinical focus is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I completed advanced training through the Personal Transformation Institute (PTI) in their S.A.F.E. (Somatic and Attachment-Focused EMDR) model. This gentle yet powerful framework combines attachment theory to explore how your past relationships influence current emotional patterns, somatic awareness to honor the body’s role in storing trauma, mindfulness to slow down distressing thoughts, and nonviolence to ensure you are met with unconditional warmth and acceptance. To continuously elevate the level of care I provide, I am currently completing my final steps toward full EMDR certification.
True healing happens when we involve both the mind and the body. In 2019, I completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training at the Detroit Yoga Lab under the guidance of Naomi Gold. This immersive experience transformed my perspective on how distress shows up physically—whether through chronic tension, nervous system dysregulation, or feeling disconnected from oneself. Integrating somatic awareness into therapy allows us to work through emotional wounds not just intellectually, but at the physical level where stress often settles.
My foundational training includes a Master of Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Michigan–Dearborn. Alongside my private clinical practice, I serve as a school social worker, collaborating regularly with students, families, and educators to build resilience, emotional regulation, and practical coping skills. Balancing school-based care with private practice gives me a rich, multi-layered understanding of the pressures children, teens, parents, and adults navigate at different stages of life.
Outside of my professional roles, I am a wife and a mother to two young boys. Navigating the beautiful, chaotic, and everyday realities of family life keeps me deeply grounded. I understand firsthand the balancing act of caring for others while trying to prioritize your own growth and well-being, and these personal experiences inform the warmth, practical wisdom, and down-to-earth empathy I bring to every session.
Therapy with me is a collaborative partnership where my goal is to provide an affirming, non-judgmental space where you feel truly seen and heard. Whether you are dealing with unresolved trauma, navigating anxiety, managing family dynamics, or simply feeling stuck in old patterns, we will work together to rewrite narratives that no longer serve you, build a personalized toolkit of somatic strategies, and step toward lasting peace of mind.
