Hello! I am Dr. Vivia Hill-Silcott, I earned a PhD. in Counselor Education and Supervision. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor with over 5 years of direct counseling experience. I live in Georgia with my family, 2 dogs, and a betta fish named Vivia. I helped clients who suffer with anxiety, stress management, depression, identity intersectionality, grief, and trauma. I have spent many years working with college students, African-American gay men in college, and adolescents. I also help African-American youth to explore their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and also how to remain resilient.
I believe that each client is unique and diverse, as such, I prefer to integrate perspectives from multiple theoretical approaches that is a suitable fit for the client. I utilize assessment instruments to help clients understand their concerns. I believe the intersectionality with each client’s identity should be affirmed. I am trained in multicultural therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and solution focused brief therapy.
I prefer engaging in warm dialogues with clients. I believe that when a client experiences warmth from a counselor, unique opportunities emerge for the client to engage in honest communication.
