About me
My career as a counselor/psychotherapist has been long, varied, and a source of satisfaction in knowing and helping others live more productive and happier lives.
My degree and training have allowed me to practice in a variety of settings and with a number of different populations - including private practice, and in the past: mental health and physical health settings, military, developmental disabilities, children, teens, and adults ( individually and as a couple or family). I enjoyed play therapy with children, as well a working our military and vets with PTSD. Psychotherapy is an ever evolving field, and I have alway been excited about learning and growing in ways that would help my clients. Since Covid, I now see my clients via zoom, and no longer work with younger children. My therapeutic approach is humanistic, and I have had extensive traininng in gestalt therapy, clinical hypnosis, and EMDR. Talk therapy has its' place as well, as a place to learn skills such as communication, assertiveness, and the like.
