About me
Victoria Murphy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Fairbanks, Alaska, specializing in trauma therapy for adults, particularly survivors of sexual assault and individuals experiencing combat-related PTSD. Known for her compassionate, client-centered approach, Victoria creates a therapeutic space grounded in trust, safety, and deep listening.
Victoria holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and Love Your Brain Level 1 certificate holder, which allows her to integrate somatic and mindfulness-based practices into her clinical work.
Her training includes several evidence-based trauma modalities, such as:
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
In her practice, she thoughtfully weaves together these structured therapies with culturally responsive healing practices, supporting the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
Victoria is passionate about reducing stigma around mental health and increasing access to quality care across Alaska. In addition to her clinical work, she engages in community outreach, public speaking, and mental health advocacy efforts.
A Bit More About Victoria
Victoria’s story is rooted in military life. Raised in a military family, she’s lived around the globe—from England to Hawaii—and eventually found her way to Fairbanks in 2010 via the U.S. Air Force. She’s a proud graduate of Ben Eielson Jr./Sr. High School and has made Alaska home alongside her husband, a fellow Air Force service member.
Outside of the therapy room, Victoria is a joyful mix of grounded professionalism and playful personality. She’s a mom, wife, yogi, and unapologetic lover of chips and salsa, iced coffee, and fantasy novels (lifelong ACOTAR fan!). You might catch her at a Pilates class, deep into a stack of Christmas-scented candles, or watching the latest Bachelor drama.
