I am passionate about helping people! Everyone wants to be heard and valued. My approach as a counselor is to build a strong therapeutic relationship with you in a nonjudgmental space. I will demonstrate consistent empathy towards your feelings and struggles while verbalizing positive regard and validating you. I believe thoughts (positive & negative) have strong influences on emotions and as well as behaviors. I believe that answers to life’s difficulties are within each of us

I graduated from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My view of clients is to walk with you on your journey to realizing your potential. I will point out different areas that you may want to understand more about – your past and/or present as you move on and grow into your future. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a fundamental theory I initially will start with. However, I am open to integrating other evidence-based approaches and techniques into the session when warranted. It is my goal to work with you to assist you in obtaining your desired outcomes and treatment goals.

I have worked with young adults and seniors and couples. I have experience working with individuals seeking help with anxiety, depression, grief/bereavement, communication difficulties in relationships, faith counseling, and coping with life transitions (empty nest syndrome, retirement, moving, etc.). I believe that our answers to life’s difficulties are within each of us and sometimes we just need assistance from someone to help discover them for ourselves.
