About me
I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in treating individuals, couples, and families who are new (or resuming) therapy. I am experienced in helping my clients cope with life and/or work related challenges that cause symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, postpartum/perinatal, sleep/wake issues, stress, and trauma.
Thank you for considering me to partner with you as you seek to begin (or resume) your journey of healing!
My name is Vaniqua (pronounced: Va-Knee-Qwah). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, looking to support you as you to take that brave step in obtaining mental health services. I am a professional that will (1) start where you are (2) encourage self-determination (3) offer relevant education to help you get to where you desire to be and (4) act as a cheerleader that will acknowledge and celebrate your progress, while navigating and encouraging you through obstacles that life will add in the attempt to impede on your healing.
My speciality?
I work with teens (age 16+), adults, and couples, service members, veterans, and their families struggling with trauma, sleep/wake difficulties, or work/life challenges causing them depression, stress, grief, and anxiety. I am also experienced in working with women transitioning through the perinatal period or work towards healing from postpartum/perinatal symptoms due to pregnancy, miscarry, childbirth, or infertility.
What to expect?
We will identify and work on your personal treatment goals each session. Moreover, during every session, you will be offered a safe and judgement-free environment, so your authentic-self is welcomed. Therapeutic modalities used include (but not limited to) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) -just to name some of my favs.
