About me
With two California licenses, L.M.F.T. and L.P.C.C., I bring a wealth of hard-earned expertise and insight to my clients, grounded in 24+ years of private practice. Having walked alongside and partnered with thousands of individuals, couples, and families, my approach is shaped by deep experience and continuous professional training. I chose this profession because everyone deserves to feel there is a place where they can feel heard, understood, and supported as they grapple with life's challenges, rather deemed good or bad. I provide a safe non-judgmental space, while listening, teaching, and inspiring emotional intelligence and communication skills each session; these things are absolutely central to how people thrive, both on their own or in relationships. Further, I partner with clients to provide comprehensive coaching, objective assessments, and actionable goal planning. We meet on-line (ZOOM) for 1.5 hrs. every other week. Then, in-person meetings are arranged twice yearly.
A BIT MORE ON MY APPROACH
It is a profound gift to work along this humanistic therapy journey with clients. While I am not rigid in the use of one therapeutic protocol, my therapy orientations include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment, Family Systems, and the Gottman couples therapy methods. I utilize various combinations of talk therapy and somatic therapies such as Relational Focused (RFT), Emotional Focused (EFT) Therapies for daily or traumatic stress and resilience for the whole embodied experiences or disturbances. I also provide psycho-education where you learn about yourself, enhance your emotional intelligence, and learn how to be your personal advocate. You arrive as a whole person, and I utilize the most up-to-date methods to provide the most effective care.
Confidentiality, your sense of safety, and building trust are central to our work. Let’s identify your goals; share what you recognize as patterns or habits you want to change or improve. Willingness to be open, met with my compassion and non-judgment, plus your commitment-to-the work and attendance, positively aligns with our efforts and objectives. Couples work, married or premarital, couples' repair after betrayal or infidelities, the Psychology of Men and male specific relational issues, and Attachment Assessment work is informative. For couples, I utilize a well researched objective assessment, the Prepare and Enrich computerized questionnaire resulting in a 9 page customized report of a couple's strengths and target areas for relational growth; some choose to complete it first and receive a written snapshot for goals. Let's talk. Call.
