About me
I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker ( LCSW- R) in New York for several years. I assist Adults who are experiencing, Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Intimate Relationship and Family Problems, Work-Related Stress and other problems that can impact on the mental and physical well-being of individuals. I have a specialty in treating individuals with Vision Impairment/Blindness,
Therapy is not for everyone. Meeting a stranger, being vulnerable and sharing their emotional pain is not something everyone can comfortably do. Many feel shame, guilt and even anxiety when they first meet me. They might initially ask themselves, " Can I trust her"? "Will she unfairly judge me , understand what I am going through and actively listen to me. I want to reassure you, I am dedicated to do all of those things and more. I believe that reaching out for assistance from a Therapist is a strength, not a weakness. People often have strengths but have difficulty identifying them when they are depressed, traumatized, anxious and feeling powerless. Many individuals who work with me have struggled to resolve their problems independently with limited success. If they do not initially have hope that they can overcome their problems, ,I hold that hope for them until they can reclaim it for themselves.
I provide various Evidenced-Based Treatment Models in my practice. ie Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ( CBT), Problem-Solving Treatment, Behavioral Activation, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and other models of Evidenced-Based treatment to meet the needs of Clients. I invite feedback from clients about their progress in treatment because they are the Experts in the room. A client is the only person who knows what is working for them or not. I will be their partner but they will be in the driver's seat in their therapy.
