Trish Stanley, PsyD, LMFT, the founder and clinical director of the Center for Couples Therapy leads a practice group of ten expert clinicians. She has built a team that is extensively trained in couples therapy, has deep and broad experience over many years, and is passionate about helping people heal and/or enhance their relationship.

Trish currently focuses on designing and offering Couples Intensive Therapy Retreats for one couple at a time and works to help create significant change over a weekend. She continues to offer our weekend Art & Science of Love Couples Workshops six times a year, as she has for many years.

She is long certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and deeply trained in the Developmental Model Couples Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy, and with the Institute for Relational Therapy.

Her couples intensive clients are often C-suite executives, entrepreneurs, physician and attorney couples and influential professionals. Frequent issues include betrayal and trust problems, loss of connection and intimacy, empty nest challenges and questions of whether to stay or leave. She is particularly interested in helping couples discover what it takes to revitalize a long-term relationship. Adjunctively, she also supports couples in structuring separations, planning reconciliations, and collaborative divorce coaching.

Clients find her to be warm, active, engaged, and creative. She often uses humor, metaphors, and therapeutic experiments to enliven the sessions, and utilizes tools for home practice to support couples between sessions. She works to have each session build on the prior and to reach the client couple's goals in timely and powerful ways. She is committed to each partner feeling known, understood, supported, and appreciated throughout the therapeutic process.

Trish believes in the importance of an integrative approach to life, balancing awareness, wellness, purpose, exploration, community, and personal renewal. She encourages her clients to find an increasing sense of balance in the midst of change.
