About me
I am dedicated therapist and advocate with over 12 years experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I am committed to assisting individuals learn to cope with anxiety, depression, life changes, transitions, and stressors.
I would love to work with you to assist with coping with uncomfortable feelings of depression, anxiety, and life stressors/changes. We will explore strategies to work with the thoughts and feelings and learn tools which in turn will help increase motivation. I will assist you with identifying triggers, gain awareness, and develop coping strategies.
I utilize methods in cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) often. I tailor my approach to each client's individual needs. I strive to help my clients identify strengths and positive attributes as I see the strengths and positive attributes within each of my clients.
Building a foundation of trust is crucial to the therapeutic relationship. I am compassionate and committed to your wellness and will work with you to find the best solution(s) for your individual needs.
I have previous experience as a school counselor and have worked with a diverse population addressing individual social-emotional, academic, and college/career needs. I graduated from National Louis University in 2011 with a Master's Degree in School Counseling and I hold the current licenses: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), and Professional Educator License (PEL). I graduated from National Louis University in 1999 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Human Services.
