About me
I am a licensed clinical social worker with 30 years of specializing in child and family dynamics and 6 years of forensics and court involvement.
Dear client,
Whether you think it's time to face something historically you've been avoiding, something you are dealing with currently, or you are doing good and just want to maintain your progress, I understand that counseling can be sought for reasons across the spectrum. I come in with a framework of being humanistic. Meaning, we all make mistakes, engage in negative self talk, rely on assumptions, and at times, dont realize we have historical patterns from our upbringing interferring with current relationships.
We don't have to live that way. We are not the labels others have given us. You define you. Im here to help you find yourself underneath everyone else's interactions with you. Im here to let you know that beating yourself up, people pleasing, toxic relationships, perfectionism, etc is over.
Let's build you back according to who you say you are, according to your values and beliefs, and strengthen the internal voice that was not nurtured to tell yourself you can do this, and the external voice that says this is my boundary-- don't test it.
I engage in various forms of therapeutic interventions that I have researched and found to get results when applied. I dont tell anyone to stop doing something, but rather, let's implement a new habit, and over time, the unwanted behavior goes away on it's own.
You got this. I know you do. Join me and let's get started with making that difference you've yearned for.
And lastly, a bit on my background...
Ive been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2001, but in the profession since 1994. I worked state child welfare for 23 years, and last 6 years in state psychiatric forensics. I specialize in PTSD, Reactive Attachment Disorder, Parental Alienation Syndrome, and toxic child and family interactions. I've held a private practice for 15 years focusing on individual adult, child, and teen issues. Recent specializations has focused on surviving a Narcissist Personality Disordered parent, specifically mothers, and within adult, couple's relationships.
