About me
With 25 years of experience, I specialize in helping individuals recognize and break free from unhealthy relationship patterns. My expertise lies in working with those who have experienced toxic or emotionally damaging relationships or are uncertain about the health of their current one. I will help you identify red flags, understand what a healthy relationship looks like, and rebuild self-worth. If you find yourself caught in repetitive, painful cycles or struggling with self-doubt, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to help you regain control, heal, and create stronger, more fulfilling connections.
I am an art psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I spent over 2 decades working with families affected domestic violence and family dysfunction. I am trauma informed and I understand how to help to help individuals heal from relationship wounds. I have helped thousands of children, adolescents and adult DV survivors heal from traumatic events. My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free therapeutic environment to explore challenging life situations, as well as the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that arise from them. Therapy can be intimidating for some, but as part of a team, we will identify goals and work together to achieve transformation through verbal and visual processing.
My expertise lies in delicately addressing the challenges in strained relationships, such as domestic violence, divorce, anxiety, depression, family and marital conflicts. I recognize the emotions and physical discomfort these challenges impose, and I'm committed to offering my support as we navigate these difficult challenges together. With over 25 years of experience working in non-profit and community based programs, in addition to private practice, I am adept in understanding and nurturing human connections.
My background in psychology, combined with my personal experiences, uniquely qualifies me to understand your wants, needs, and potential. I help clients build a positive mindset by exploring how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors connect. Using art, talk therapy, and positive psychology, I help you understand how negative thoughts shape emotions and teach tools to reframe them so you feel more in control, connected, and empowered.
Using talk and art therapy, I teach you to visually map thought patterns through timelines, associations, and other tools. The art helps you see your abstract thoughts and emotions in a more tangible way, no artistic skill needed, just openness to insight and change. My aim is to help you recognize your worth and pursue the path you desire for yourself.
For me, one of the most rewarding professional experiences is working with people who are ready to make a change and start living the life they desire. Individuals who recognize they are not reaching their full potential and are eager to take action are my ideal clients.
