About me

I enjoy working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, specializing in understanding and healing complex trauma. I believe in the importance of understanding my clients’ histories and their current socio-economic contexts and influences. My therapy approach is centered on the whole person. It is strengths-based, recognizing that many of our negative and positive coping mechanisms stem from our past experiences with managing painful circumstances or feelings.

I strive to create a safe, caring, engaged, and calm counseling environment that enables clients to explore, understand, and define their goals. Before completing my master’s in social work, I studied public health for several years, focusing on how people build and maintain resilience in their lives and how they can foster growth from past traumatic experiences.

My own history with childhood trauma informs my approach, allowing me to serve my clients with compassion and to create a secure, collaborative space for exploration and healing.

My theroretical framework: Trauma informed CBT, DBT IFS, CPT, Narrative therapy, Client focused/centered, brief solution focused therapy, experimental focused, and various other modalities based on client needs, such as supported 12-step program work and ACA (Adult Children of Alcoholics/Dysfunctional Families) support/. I am also in the process of learning brain spotting and Neurofeedback techniques and hope to be fully credentialed within the upcoming year. Ultimately, I am dedicated to providing client-centered and strength-focused modalities.
