About me
I am an experienced clinical psychologist who is dedicated to helping accomplished professionals work through anxiety, stress and burnout, and the weight they quietly carry.
There is a particular kind of tiredness that comes from being the person everyone relies on. From the outside, everything looks handled. You show up, you deliver, you hold things together at work and at home. Inside, it can feel different: anxiety that will not switch off, a mind that will not slow down, or a quiet exhaustion you have carried for longer than you would admit to anyone. If that sounds familiar, you are the kind of person I work with, and therapy can be a place to set the load down and feel like yourself again.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a doctorate and more than 20 years of experience. The people I work with are often accomplished, capable adults and professionals, the ones others count on, who function well on the outside while managing a great deal underneath. Many come to me for anxiety, stress and burnout, life and career pressure, or the effects of trauma. You do not have to be in crisis to benefit from this work. If something has been weighing on you, that is reason enough to begin.
My approach is warm, direct, and practical. In our first conversation, we talk about what brought you in and agree on where to focus. From there, we look at what is actually driving the stress, not just the surface of it, and build skills you can use right away and rely on when life gets demanding again. My work is evidence based, drawing primarily on cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapy, with advanced training in trauma-informed care. Rather than applying a single method to everyone, I stay flexible and match the approach to what actually presents in the room. When trauma is part of the picture, we move at a pace that feels safe to you.
What I bring to this work is a combination of depth and lived understanding. I have more than 20 years of clinical experience, much of it in demanding, high-accountability settings, along with deep, specialized expertise in trauma and how it shapes the brain, body, and behavior. My grounding in forensic psychology, including editing a foundational text in the field, sharpened my ability to work with complex, high-stakes situations and to stay steady with difficult material. I have also led organizations myself, so I understand pressure from the inside, the weight of carrying responsibility without pause. Many clients find it meaningful to work with someone who understands both the clinical and the human side of the lives they lead.
Diversity and lived perspective matter deeply to me. Some of the most formative learning of my career came from years of work in Rwanda, Zambia, and South Africa, building trauma-informed curricula alongside teachers, childcare workers, and community members who taught me how healing was already understood within their own cultures. That experience was humbling, and it shaped how I practice. I lead with curiosity rather than assumption and I ask rather than presume.
Clients often describe me as someone who listens closely, understands the pressure they are under, and offers honest, practical guidance. They tell me they feel understood without judgment and leave sessions with something they can actually use. My aim is not to keep you in therapy indefinitely, but to help you feel steadier, more grounded, and more like yourself, and to send you back into your life better equipped than before.
In my general practice I accept insurance, so that thoughtful, high-quality care is accessible. Every client I work with receives care that is individualized to them. For those who want added flexibility, priority scheduling, and greater availability, I also offer a private-pay concierge option. Whichever path fits you, confidentiality and privacy are central to how I work. Protecting them is both a professional obligation and something I hold personally, and you can expect discretion at every step. I offer secure teletherapy to clients across California and, through PSYPACT, in 40 additional states.
Reaching out can feel like a big step, especially when you are used to being the one who holds it all together. You do not have to carry it alone. If you are ready to feel steadier and more like yourself again, I would be glad to hear from you, and we can take the first step together.
