About me
Ms. Theresa Shuart is a Clinical Fellow in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists with more than 35 years’ experience working with patients in the mental health field, helping people of all ages (age 5 and above), and she specializes in marriage and family therapy.
Theresa has several treatment approaches in order to offer the best treatment for each problem. Therese treatments include different types of systemic therapies (great for family work), brief therapy for goal planning (to ensure the client is included in the goal development), cognitive behavioral therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a type of therapeutic hypnosis that has been shown to work quickly and effectively, especially with phobias. (Note: This is only done with client permission and after an explanation of the process.)
