About me

I am a compassionate mental health counselor who welcomes the opportunity to work with individuals navigating difficult transitions in life that may result in anxiety, depression, or other uncomfortable symptoms and exploring solutions toward wellness together.

Are you going through a difficult transition in your life? Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, depressed or uncertain about how to navigate the present in the weight of these changes? Weather you've recently changed schools, moved homes, are managing care-giver burnout, navigating divorce or mourning the loss of a loved one - life can offer some unexpected curves in the road. I believe that sometimes we need someone to talk to when we feel stuck or uncertain about the next steps on the journey of life. My counseling approach offers personalized care through empathetic listening. Together we will explore what you're facing from a nonjudgemental and wholistic perspective. Through identifying your strengths, we will find ways to implement helpful patterns of thinking and functioning. I will support and encourage you as you work to gain self-awareness and find meaning and purpose in your life. As a former music teacher I bring a passion for creativity and the arts to my clinical work. I have self-published two children's books on mental health and love using books, music, drawing and play into my therapy work. My experience as a parent and spouse informs my work with children, parents or family systems. I have worked with clients experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment. I practice from a multi-cultural perspective and welcome learning about how your unique identity shapes your experience. I graduated from Oakland University with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have completed training on Suicide Prevention and Awareness and advocate for open communication about mental health and wellness.
