About me
Appalachian Christian Counseling is a non-denominational fellowship of Christian counselors reaching out to individuals & families in crisis in the Tri-Cities, TN. We seek to strengthen & encourage the hurting through a ministry to people of all kinds in Kingsport, Johnson City, & Gray, TN, whether from family strife, medical problems, financially tough times, depression, divorce, or spiritual uncertainty. Our group has counselors with multiple specialties to address your issues. Call me for information about the services we provide.
I have broad experience in counseling: as a pastor in TN, KS & NY; therapist in community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, hospital chaplain; & clinical director for a residential drug abuse facility. I'm on the N.E.TN Medical Reserve Corps Mental Health Disaster Response Committee, & have worked with first responders & medical professionals.
I offer Christian counseling, consulting and referral services for marital problems, antisocial behavior, & other interpersonal problems. I have completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, & am a "Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work" leader. I'm certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and experienced working with BPD & OCD.
