Appalachian Christian Counseling is a non-denominational fellowship of Christian counselors reaching out to individuals & families in crisis in the Tri-Cities, TN. We seek to strengthen & encourage the hurting through a ministry to people of all kinds in Kingsport, Johnson City, & Gray, TN, whether from family strife, medical problems, financially tough times, depression, divorce, or spiritual uncertainty. I have broad experience in counseling: as a pastor in TN, KS & NY; therapist in community mental health centers, psychiatric hospitals, hospital chaplain; & clinical director for a residential drug abuse facility. I'm on the N.E.TN Medical Reserve Corps Mental Health Disaster Response Committee, & have worked with first responders & medical professionals.
I offer Christian counseling, consulting and referral services for marital problems, antisocial behavior, & other interpersonal problems. I have completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, & am a "Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work" leader. I'm certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and experienced working with BPD & OCD.
