About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who supports adults experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions by providing a compassionate, nonjudgmental space for healing, self-understanding, and meaningful personal growth.
My path to becoming a mental health provider is rooted in compassion, advocacy, and a deep respect for the resilience people carry through life’s most difficult moments. I was first drawn to social work through hospice volunteer work, where I witnessed the importance of presence, dignity, and emotional support during vulnerable life transitions. That experience shaped my commitment to walking alongside individuals during times of uncertainty, grief, and personal transformation.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with diverse and often vulnerable populations. My experience includes supporting trauma-impacted individuals such as survivors of sexual assault, families navigating the complexities of child protective services involvement, and older adults in long-term care settings. In these roles, I conducted psychosocial assessments, provided emotional and family support, and advocated for individuals facing challenging circumstances. These experiences strengthened my understanding of how systems, relationships, and past experiences can shape emotional well-being.
Today, I work as an independent practitioner providing individual mental health services to adolescents and adults ages 15 and older. I approach therapy as a collaborative process where clients are treated with respect, curiosity, and empathy. My goal is to create an environment where people feel comfortable exploring their experiences openly and honestly without fear of judgment.
Each person who enters therapy brings a unique story. Some individuals come to therapy during periods of intense stress or emotional pain. Others arrive feeling stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about the direction of their lives. Many simply want a space to reflect, gain insight, and better understand themselves. Whatever the reason for seeking support, therapy can offer a meaningful opportunity to slow down, reflect, and begin making thoughtful changes.
My therapeutic approach is strength-based, person-centered, and culturally responsive. I believe that individuals already possess many of the inner resources needed for healing and growth. Therapy helps uncover and strengthen those capacities while also introducing new tools and perspectives that support emotional balance and resilience.
A key part of my work involves helping clients recognize patterns that may be contributing to distress. These patterns can develop over many years and are often connected to earlier experiences, relationships, or expectations we place on ourselves. Through thoughtful exploration and reflection, clients begin to understand how these patterns influence their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in the present.
As insight develops, therapy also focuses on building practical strategies for everyday life. This may include developing healthier boundaries, improving communication skills, learning ways to manage anxiety or overwhelming emotions, and cultivating self-compassion. Change does not happen overnight, but small, consistent shifts can lead to meaningful improvements in emotional well-being and quality of life.
Safety and trust are central to the therapeutic relationship. I strive to create a space where clients feel respected and empowered to move at their own pace. For individuals who have experienced trauma or difficult life circumstances, having a supportive environment where experiences can be processed safely can be an important step toward healing.
I also recognize the importance of cultural awareness and sensitivity in therapy. Our identities, backgrounds, and life experiences shape how we view ourselves and the world around us. I work to honor those perspectives and integrate them into the therapeutic process so that care remains respectful, relevant, and supportive of each client’s unique context.
Clients often seek support for concerns such as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, trauma-related experiences, caregiver stress, or major life transitions. Adolescents and young adults may be navigating academic pressures, identity development, or changing family dynamics. Adults may be managing career stress, relationship concerns, parenting challenges, or the emotional impact of caregiving responsibilities. Regardless of the specific concern, therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and begin identifying pathways forward.
My role is not to tell clients how to live their lives but to provide guidance, perspective, and support as they explore what feels meaningful and authentic to them. The process of therapy can help individuals gain clarity about their values, strengthen their sense of self, and develop greater confidence in navigating life’s challenges.
For many people, the decision to begin therapy is not easy. It often requires courage to acknowledge that support may be helpful. Taking that first step can open the door to new understanding, healing, and growth. Whether someone is seeking support for a specific issue or simply looking for a space to reflect and reconnect with themselves, therapy can provide a supportive foundation for meaningful change.

I hope to offer a space where individuals feel supported, respected, and empowered as they move toward greater well-being and balance in their lives.
Therapy is also a place to slow down and make space for reflection in a world that often demands constant productivity and emotional suppression. Many people carry responsibilities for others—family members, partners, children, coworkers—while quietly setting aside their own emotional needs. Over time, this can lead to exhaustion, disconnection, and a sense of being overwhelmed. Therapy offers an opportunity to step out of that cycle and reconnect with your own experiences, needs, and goals.
In our work together, we will focus not only on understanding challenges but also on building practical skills that support emotional regulation and everyday well-being. This may include learning ways to identify and manage stress responses, strengthening communication patterns in relationships, and developing strategies to navigate difficult emotions without becoming consumed by them. These tools are designed to support clients outside of the therapy room so that progress continues between sessions and across different areas of life.
Another important aspect of therapy involves exploring the beliefs and narratives people hold about themselves. Many individuals develop internal messages over time—about what they should be able to handle, how they should appear to others, or what they must achieve to feel worthy or secure. These internal expectations can sometimes create pressure that contributes to anxiety, self-doubt, or emotional fatigue. Therapy provides an opportunity to gently examine these beliefs and consider whether they continue to serve a helpful purpose in the present.
For adolescents and young adults, therapy can also provide support during periods of identity formation and increased independence. Navigating school expectations, social pressures, and changing family roles can feel confusing and emotionally demanding. Having a neutral and supportive space to talk through these experiences can help young people develop confidence, emotional awareness, and healthier ways of responding to challenges as they grow into adulthood.
For adults, therapy often becomes a place to reassess priorities and reconnect with personal values. Life responsibilities, career demands, or caregiving roles can sometimes lead people to lose sight of their own needs and aspirations. Through reflective conversation and thoughtful goal setting, therapy can help clients regain a sense of direction and clarity about what matters most to them.
I also emphasize the importance of sustainable change rather than quick fixes. While immediate coping strategies can provide relief during times of stress, deeper transformation often comes from gradual shifts in awareness, perspective, and behavior. Therapy supports this process by helping individuals recognize patterns, practice new responses, and integrate changes over time in ways that feel realistic and lasting.
The therapeutic relationship itself is a central part of this work. Feeling supported, respected, and understood allows clients to explore difficult topics more openly. My role is to provide a steady, attentive presence that encourages curiosity and reflection while offering guidance when helpful. Therapy is a partnership, and progress develops through ongoing collaboration and mutual trust.
Many people also discover that therapy strengthens their relationship with themselves. Over time, clients often develop a greater ability to recognize their emotional needs, respond to challenges with greater flexibility, and extend compassion toward their own experiences. This internal shift can influence many areas of life, including relationships, decision-making, and overall well-being.
While every therapeutic journey is different, the underlying goal remains the same: helping individuals feel more grounded, capable, and connected in their lives. Whether the focus is processing past experiences, navigating present challenges, or building confidence for the future, therapy provides a structured and supportive space to engage in that work.
Growth rarely follows a straight path, and moments of uncertainty are a natural part of the process. With patience, support, and continued reflection, meaningful change becomes possible. I aim to help clients move toward a place where they feel more empowered to navigate life with clarity, resilience, and self-understanding.
