About me
I am an experienced therapist specializing in Addiction and Trauma. I help therapy participants navigate recovery, grief, depression, anxiety, stress, relationships, and guide you to connect with your body to access your own inner healer.
I received my Bachelor's in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin in 2009 and my concurrent Masters in Social Work and Addiction Counseling Certification from Loyola University Chicago in 2012. I later became licensed and certified in Florida, where most of my therapy participants reside. I also serve Illinois residents in a coaching capacity. In addition to helping people process and heal from trauma and addiction, I also help women navigate recovery from abusive relationships.
I believe that our mental health cannot be understood separate from our environment and our individual and collective histories, and I practice therapy from a perspective that challenges the traditional mental health industrial complex. Rather than rely heavily on diagnoses that pathologize the individual, I help therapy participants understand the underlying causes of addiction and other mental health concerns as normal responses to abnormal situations, systems and environments.
I use a variety of holistic approaches in my work, with an emphasis on self-compassion and the mind/body connection. Therapy is not about having all the answers, but guiding you to access your own inner healer. I believe that compassionate connection to the present moment, our bodies, and the world around us are the greatest tools we have to change our lives. If this resonates for you, I look forward to your call for a free consultation!
