I am a Licensed Psychotherapist and Certified Life Coach with over twenty years of clinical experience in private and public settings working with women impacted by the trauma of abuse and infidelity, empowering them to unpack and heal from the pain and regain control of their life.

Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself. My name is Tanyka Abbott. I am a faith-based licensed Psychotherapist and Certified Life Coach. I firmly believe personal and professional experiences have equipped me to follow my God-given path to being a change agent for healing. I can attest firsthand to the emotional, spiritual, and relational wounding betrayal has on individuals, marriages, and families. I am not only a therapist who works with those impacted by such wounding; I have personally experienced great healing and transformation when one walks the journey of healing from those wounds.

As a faith-based practice, we do not dismiss the well-evolved techniques and practices of the mental health profession. Our difference from a secular mental health practice is simply in incorporating spiritual disciplines identified by the client into our clinical practice. One does not need not be a part of a particular denomination of the Christian faith or even be a practicing Christian to receive services. Whether you are a Christian or not, we desire to empower you to receive the professional help and support needed to enable you to live an abundant life. I obtained my Master of Social Work degree from Howard University(1999). I hold an active license at the independent level in five states (MD, PA, VA, OH, GA) and the District of Columbia. My additional certifications include PREPARE/ENRICH pre-marital/marital counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.

My clientele includes both male and female adults (21+). At present, all sessions are online only. I do not accept insurance; however, I offer a sliding scale fee for those proving financial need.
