About me
I help high-functioning adults find relief from anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship struggles—so they can reconnect with joy, purpose, and peace.
Do you wish you had the tools to enjoy life and feel genuinely happy? My name is Tamara Payne, and I’m a therapist with over two decades of experience. I specialize in supporting high-functioning adults as they navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal challenges.
A Tranquil Room is a psychotherapy practice that offers a safe and supportive space to heal from the emotional wounds life can leave behind. I provide inclusive virtual therapy to clients across New Jersey, specializing in work with high-functioning adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges.
With over two decades of experience, I take a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy. My work integrates techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and interpersonal therapy—tailored to fit your unique needs and goals. You set the pace, and I provide the tools, guidance, and insight to help you move forward.
In therapy, we begin by addressing the present—building skills to manage stress, improve communication, and change unhelpful patterns. Then we take time to explore the past to understand how your experiences shaped your current beliefs and behaviors. This process not only brings clarity but also helps you avoid repeating cycles that no longer serve you.
Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply know that something needs to change, you’re not alone. Therapy can be a powerful space for reflection, growth, and healing. I’m here to help you reconnect with yourself and others, gain deeper insight, and create a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and fulfilling.
You don’t have to continue feeling anxious, sad, or isolated. Together, we can work to help you feel more grounded, resilient, and in control of your life.
