About me
Many of the individuals I work with appear high-functioning on the outside, yet internally feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck in patterns that are difficult to shift. My name is Tammy Payne, and I’m a therapist with over two decades of experience supporting adults as they navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal challenges.
On the outside, you may be functioning—handling responsibilities, showing up for others, and managing day-to-day life. But internally, it can feel overwhelming, exhausting, or difficult to keep up. You may find yourself overthinking, feeling emotionally drained, or struggling to slow things down, even when everything appears fine on the surface.
With over two decades of experience, I take a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy. I work with individuals who are often used to being the ones others rely on, and who may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, or major life transitions.
My work integrates techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and interpersonal therapy—tailored to fit your unique needs and goals. You set the pace, and I provide the tools, guidance, and insight to help you move forward.
In therapy, we begin by addressing the present—building skills to manage stress, improve communication, and change unhelpful patterns. We also take time to explore the past to better understand how your experiences have shaped your current beliefs and behaviors. This process helps bring clarity and supports you in making more intentional, lasting changes.
Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply aware that something needs to shift, you’re not alone. Therapy can be a meaningful space for reflection, growth, and healing. I’m here to help you reconnect with yourself and others, gain deeper insight, and create a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
