About me
Do you ever feel like you’re holding everything together for everyone else while quietly running on empty? Maybe it’s anxiety that won’t switch off, moods that feel harder to manage, or sleepless nights replaying the day.
I’m Tamara De Angelis, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker helping women care for their mental and emotional health through every season of life. Together, we’ll make sense of what you’re carrying, build practical tools for everyday life, and help you feel calmer, more grounded, and like yourself again.
I’m also a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP), a credential earned by relatively few therapists, so if hormonal changes are part of the picture, we'll discover how they affect your emotions and concrete things you can do.
I offer virtual individual therapy and group support across California and Florida. Reach out for a free consultation, and we’ll take the first step together.
Hi, I’m Tamara De Angelis, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist at The New Change. I work with women who are used to being the steady one: the professionals, caregivers, partners and creatives who keep everything running, often while their own needs slip quietly to the bottom of the list.
Maybe you’re feeling anxious in a way you can’t quite explain. Maybe your moods feel bigger or harder to manage than they used to, your sleep has fallen apart, or you’ve started to wonder who you’re becoming. Many of the women I see feel overwhelmed, disconnected or dismissed, especially when they’ve been told that what they’re going through is “just stress” or “just your age.” If any of that sounds familiar, I want you to know you’re not imagining it, and you don’t have to figure it out alone.
WHY I DO THIS WORK
My practice is dedicated to women’s mental health and the transitions that shape our lives, with a special focus on midlife, perimenopause and menopause. This work is personal for me. I understand the emotional toll these changes can take because I’ve lived them too. That experience, along with my clinical training, shapes how I show up for every client: with warmth, honesty and a deep respect for what you’re carrying.
I believe every woman deserves to feel seen, heard and valued, particularly during seasons of life that are so often misunderstood or minimized. I approach therapy with an awareness of how identity, culture and the expectations placed on women affect our mental health, and I see my role as both a support and an advocate.
HOW WE’LL WORK TOGETHER
Our work is collaborative. In our first session, we’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’d like to feel different, and what matters most to you. From there, we’ll build a plan together that fits your life and your pace.
I use practical, research-backed approaches that help you notice and change the thought patterns that keep you stuck, paired with self-compassion practices that help you treat yourself with the same kindness you so easily give to others. My care is trauma-informed, which means you’ll always set the pace, and nothing is forced. If sleep is a struggle, I’m also certified in CBT for Insomnia, a proven, drug-free approach to improving sleep that can help you rest more deeply again.
You’ll leave sessions with real tools you can use in everyday life, not just a place to vent. Over time, many women find they feel calmer, more confident in their choices and more connected to themselves and the people they love.
MY TRAINING
I hold a Master of Social Work and am a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP). The MSCP is held mostly by physicians and nurse practitioners, and relatively few therapists have earned it. It means I understand the physical side of hormonal change as well as the emotional side, so if perimenopause or menopause is part of your story, we can address the whole picture. I’ve also completed the Perry Academy Perimenopause Certificate and specialized training in menopause-focused therapy through EMBERS, and I’m a member of The Menopause Society and the International Menopause Society.
WHAT I OFFER
Individual therapy: one-on-one virtual sessions focused entirely on you and your goals.
The Midlife Reset group: a supportive, therapist-led 10-week group, limited to 10 women, where you’ll learn practical skills and connect with others who truly understand what you’re going through.
All sessions are held virtually through a secure, private telehealth platform, so you can get support from the comfort of home. I see clients throughout California and Florida.
LET’S TALK
If you’re ready to feel more grounded, more like yourself and less alone in what you’re facing, I’d love to hear from you. I’m currently accepting new clients and offer a free consultation so we can talk about what you’re looking for and whether we’re a good fit. Reaching out can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to take it alone. We’ll take it together.
