About me
Takiya is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP), and is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Takiya is a Registered Supervisor with the Virginia Board of Counseling for residents in LPC, LMFT, and CSAC. Takiya has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Old Dominion University. She received a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.
NLSAW- Natural Living through Spiritual (the quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things) Awakening (an act or moment of becoming suddenly aware of self) & Wholeness (the state of being unbroken or undamaged) specializes in working with families, couples, individual adults, children and teens with behavioral health diagnosis and substance issues. Other areas of focus include trauma, grief and loss, marital issues, anger management, and life stressors utilizing CBT, play therapy, mindfulness therapy, and a person-centered approach tailored to each client.
