About me
I am a marriage and family therapist who enjoys working with individuals and couples.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for several years as a social worker. It has been a great privilege to walk alongside people, supporting them as they navigate life's challenges. My love of helping others led me to become a marriage and family therapist. I enjoy helping people work towards their goals of a healthy happier self with strong relationships that help them thrive. I believe every person I work with has a different story, different wounds, different strengths, and different dreams. Therefore, my goal is to create a supportive space where we will work together through what is holding you back in a way that meets your individual needs and puts you on the path to healing and greater life satisfaction.
I work with individuals who are struggling with self-esteem, empowerment, phase of life changes, guilt/shame, religious trauma, and family of origin issues. If old unhelpful ways of thinking are getting in the way of you feeling confident, having peace, or reaching your goals, I can help! You can’t change the past, but you don’t have to give the past power over your future. I am persistently hopeful even in hard times that positive change is possible.
I work with couples who know they want to stay together but are struggling to navigate life’s challenges as a team. Perhaps you’re going through the regular ups and downs of life, but frustration has replaced the support you used to feel from your partner. You now find that you argue more than you used to. Maybe a new life phase (parenthood, job change, relocation, recent loss) has changed the way you interact with each other, and the new normal is discouraging. Maybe life has gotten busier, and you aren’t connecting the way you used to. You both want to make it work, but you’re not sure how. You want things to be like they used to be (or even better), but you feel stuck. I can help you navigate these challenging times and find a new better way forward as a team.
