About me
I am an experienced therapist dedicated to helping adults manage anxiety, depression, stress, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges.
Hi, I’m Syreeta McDonald, and I’m passionate about helping people heal, grow, and step into their full potential. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a church elder—but more importantly, I’m someone who believes deeply in the power of change. For over thirteen years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people from all walks of life as they navigate challenges, rediscover their strength, and learn to see themselves—and their future—in a new light.
My journey into counseling wasn’t just a career choice—it was a calling. From an early age, I was fascinated by the way people think, feel, and connect. I wanted to understand what drives us, what holds us back, and what helps us heal. That passion led me to pursue my Master’s degree in Counseling at West Chester University, a CACREP-accredited program known for its high standards and rigorous training. Those years gave me a strong foundation in both theory and practice, and they shaped the way I see my role as a counselor today.
In my practice, I draw from several therapeutic approaches because I know that no two clients—and no two stories—are alike. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the core tools I use to help clients break free from unhelpful thought patterns that fuel anxiety, depression, or self-doubt. I also lean on Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients set clear, realistic goals and create small, powerful steps toward positive change. When needed, I incorporate elements of Psychodynamic Therapy to help uncover and resolve deeper issues from the past that still influence the present.
And for those who want their faith to be part of the process, I offer Christian Counseling—a space where Biblical truth and therapeutic strategies come together. My training as a church elder and my seminary background allow me to speak to both the heart and the mind, helping clients find healing that reaches both emotionally and spiritually.
Counseling, to me, isn’t about “fixing” people—it’s about helping them see the strength they already have and giving them the tools to use it. I would be honored to come alongside you as you take the next step toward healing, hope, and lasting change.
